Insights Platform

Insights

The Insights Platform is a new UMKC computational resource for managing the analysis of 3rd party data sets.  The UMKC Center for Health Insights and the UMKC Information Services teams support the Insights Platform.

The Insights Platform has tiers of user access.  The first level is a basic account which provides access to the platform to qualified users.  Account holders will receive updates about new data sources, training and other communications related to the Insights Platform.  Holding a platform account is a prerequisite for gaining access to the specific data sources managed in the platform.  Each data source has unique access requirements based on the data use agreements.  The current data sources include:

  • Cerner Health Facts
  • Cerner Diabetes (10%)
  • Cerner Asthma data mart

In early 2016 basic account holders will gain access to a secured query application that will allow independent feasibility analysis for single variables (diagnosis, medication).

All UMKC biomedical researchers can request projects utilizing these data sources. The CHI requires the investigators to have familiarity with the strengths and limitations of each data source and to be actively engaged in defining the scope of the data queries.

UMKC researchers with the technical skills and standing required for access to particular data sources may be invited to participate in a technical training session specific to a data source.

In order to gain access to Insights Data, you must attend a training session. This are scheduled as needed. Click the link below to sign up for a training session.
